Our Refresher course is designed for qualified drivers who may have a foreign licence, or otherwise wish to improve or update their skills. If you wish to, for example, improve parking skills, or learn to handle a larger vehicle, this scheme may be for you. If you have mainly driven automatic cars, you can learn gears under this scheme.
Training is tailored very individually to the driver’s specific requirements. As an example, we have helped people who have developed certain ‘bad habits’, such as incessant speeding. It is all too easy to lose a driving licence nowadays with a few ill-considered speeding moments, and we have retrained people to learn to recognise when they are most likely to speed, and therefore to stop it before it happens.
We will refresh your knowledge of the Highway Code and compare it to your previous knowledge. You may be surprised at how many new rules there are.
Our Refresher Scheme is carried out in a relaxed and informal manner, at a pace to suit you. We will not seek to force you to drive in a completely new way, as we recognise that you have been driving perhaps for many years and may do things differently to the way learners are taught now. Different does not mean wrong. We will seek to make you safer, but not to stifle your driving experience.
